Rampur H.E. Project, is located in the lesser Himalayan Zone and situated partly in Kullu and Shimla District of Himachal Pradesh about 135km from Shimla on NH22. The Project is on the river Satluj. A 15 km long concrete lined Head Race Tunnel on the right bank of river conveys water to a Surface Power House located on the right bank of river. The Intake is on left Bank and with cut & cover portion, HRT crosses to Right Bank. Water from the Power House is discharged back into the Satluj river through a 100m long Tail Race Tunnel.
