He has graduated in Town Planning from USA and also studied Financial Management from the London School of Economics. He is the son of Mr. Arjun Patel, one of the initial promoters and has a wide experience of more than 45 years in financial management, town planning, architecture etc. Under his vision and erudite leadership the Company has acquired immense reputation as an engineering company. In addition to guiding the Company, Mr. Patel was instrumental in acquiring two companies in the United States as the Subsidiaries to establish a presence at the global level. He has also been instrumental in introducing and implementing pioneering techniques in India in the field of construction industry.
He is a graduate in Commerce from Mumbai University and also holds an MBA degree from the Babson College, U.S.A. Mr. Rupen Patel has a wide experience of over 22 years in the construction industry and he joined the Company as a Director in October , 1995. He was elevated to the post of an Executive Director in September 1996. He has been trained under the supervision of his visionary father, Mr. Pravin Patel, one of the Promoters. He is a very active member of the Board supervising all the sites in a planned and periodical manner and also identifying and improving on the core competencies. He has been instrumental in motivating the employees through the formulation of the ESOP plan.
Ms. Kavita Shirvaikar is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Graduate of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India. She has vast experience of more than 20 years in the fields of Accountancy, Tax, Audit, Banking, Finance and Fund Management, etc. Over the past 20 years, Ms. Shirvaikar has worked for leading listed corporates and successfully completed complexed debt restructuring and fund raising proposals in varied capacity. Her vast experience includes working with Hindustan Construction Company and Suzlon Energy Limited.
Ms. Shirvaikar joined Patel Engineering Ltd as Vice President (Finance) and was later promoted as Joint Chief Financial Officer (Joint CFO) and then Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Company. In a short span of nearly 3 years in the Company, she has been elevated to the Board of Management w.e.f April 1, 2017.
Over the years, Ms. Kavita Shirvaikar’s responsibility expanded to include Risk Management, Investor Relations, Implementation of Debt Realignment plans of Patel Group and review & implement operational best practices. She is one of the key member on the board to assist formulating the company’s future direction and implementation of the strategic business plan. Her responsibility includes, maintaining banking relationships, representing company with investment bankers and investors, handling treasury management, monitoring cash balances, arranging debt and equity financing, finalization of financial results, etc.
In 2015, and again in 2016, Ms. Shirvaikar has been awarded among the top 100 finance professional in India, an annual CFO100 Programme organized by CFO India.
Mr. Sunil Sapre graduated in Civil Engineering from VJTI, University Of Mumbai (a Rank Holder) with Post-Graduate Diploma in Construction Management from NICMAR, Mumbai. He has a total experience of 37 years out of which for the last 26 years, he has been working with the Company. He has vast experience which spreads across various disciplines of Civil Engineering like Hydro Projects, Irrigation, Transportation, Specialised Building Structures, Pipelines etc. Mr. Sapre was directly instrumental in achieving Two Landmarks for the Company viz. Asia’s First Underwater Double Lake Tapping at Koyna Hydro Electric Project in March 1999 followed by India’s First Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) Dam at Ghatghar Hydro Electric Project in 2006. All these years, Mr. Sapre has been involved in Operations, Contracts, Arbitration, Legal matters, Tendering and Business Development. Mr. Sapre has been directly responsible for successful execution and commissioning of various projects from start to finish. Before joining the Company, he worked with Engineering Construction and Real Estate Firms including four years stint in Doha, Qatar primarily engaged in Specialised Building Structures & Residential Buildings.
Mr. K. Ramasubramanian retired as General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, in May 2002. He held from time to time various positions in Reserve Bank of India. His field of specialization includes Exchange Business of Banks-Adviser on Foreign Exchange Business for Corporates-Banking Supervision, International Faculty of Training Colleges of Banks and Management Institutes in India and abroad. He was one of the faculty member of Reserve Bank Staff College in Chennai and was responsible for programme design, conducting programme sessions and interfacing with other educational institutions for the college. He was a Professor in S.P Jain Institute of Management, Mumbai for 8 years. Mr. K. Ramasubramanian holds Masters of Science degree from University of Kerala. He also holds Post graduation diploma Business Administration (PGDBA) from Anna University and is also a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). He joined the Board of the Company on September 20, 2019 as a Non-Executive and Independent Director.
Dr. Barendra Kumar Bhoi is a career central banker and an economist. He served the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for more than three decades since 1984 and held several responsible positions, including Principal Adviser and Head of the Monetary Policy Department at RBI during 2014-2016. He served as Chief General Manager / Head of the Research Department at Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) during 2005-2007 and as Economic Policy Expert at Central Bank of Oman (CBO) during 2009-2012.
Currently, Dr. Bhoi is a Visiting Fellow at IGIDR, Mumbai. He is also an independent consultant to FIIs, Private Equities, Mutual Funds, etc. His other activities include delivering special lectures at educational institutions / think tanks / industry associations on contemporary issues; writing special columns in financial dailies; and appearing as a panelist on business news channels.
Dr. Bhoi holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Indian Institute Technology (IIT) Bombay and a Master’s degree in Analytical and Applied Economics from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, besides CAIIB from the Indian Institute Bankers. He has served as Member / Secretary / Convener for 27 Committees / Working Groups / Task Force set up by the Government of India / RBI. He has published 20 research articles in reputed Economics Journals in India and abroad.
Ms. Sunanda Rajendran is M.Com, Diploma in Export /Import, Diploma in International Arbitration, Diploma in Business management and Secretarial Practice.
Her current position includes:
-Executive Director of Indo Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industries which promote India‘s international Trade with 24 Arab countries.
-Secretary General of Indo African Chamber of Commerce & Industries. She has 37 years of practical working experience with the said organization which establishes and promotes the bilateral trade between India and 55 African countries.
-Vice chairperson of Mandvi Credit Co.op Society Ltd (holding position since last 10 years)
-On the Board (as Director) of Eram Megnaflux Pvt Ltd, Pune since 2015. “ERAM” engaged in manufacturing of Power pack batteries and inverters based on solar technology.
-On the Board (as Director) of Eram Hitech Engineering (India) Pvt Ltd, Mumbai since 2012. Eram Hitech caters to the requirement of Oil and Gas Industries, drilling and well cleaning technology with various PSU companies.
-Managing Director of SRK Global, a DMCC to fill in the bridge between India and Africa Trading /Joint ventures and technology transfer activities.
-Proprietor of Shruthi Enterprises, which provides consultancy services for Export /Import, documentation and attestation and legalization services to the business community of India.
-Editor in Chief at Arab- Hind and African Review/national Day supplements brought out by both the chambers.
In her three and a half decade career, she led a number of innovative and Impactful initiatives across 24 Arab and 53 African countries with the Foreign Trade Promotion Division team. She also steered the agenda for the MSME & MNC, led special initiatives including economic diplomacy, bilateral trade promotion, settlement of international disputes without the actual arbitration successfully, diaspora focused project, strategic and multilateral partnership.
She has played a pivotal role in Skill Ability of African women and youths, Women Empowerment, and health education to the tribes and people of the rural areas in various African countries, she has been instrumental in creating awareness of women dynamism by creating job opportunities in many fields.
Mr. Shambhu Singh holds a Master’s degree in MA (Economics) from Patna University.
He is a retired I.A.S officer and the last position he held before retirement was as a Special Secretary & Financial Adviser at the Ministry of Road Transport, Highways & Shipping, New Delhi. He is an experienced and highly impactful administrator.
In his three and half decade of service, Mr. Singh has held various positions and has driven transformation in all his charges and upheld the highest standards of integrity in them. Amongst these is the Additional Chief Secretary-ship in the Government of Manipur, where he looked after forest and wildlife conservation, the environment, climate change impact, adaptation and mitigation. He also held the post of Joint Secretary in Government of India.
He has served on the Board of various public sector undertakings such as Central Electronic Limited, Dredging Corporation of India Limited, Shipping Corporation of India Limited, Indian Tourism Development Corporation Limited, and India Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Limited during his tenure as an IAS officer.
Currently, he has been appointed as Chairman of the Committee to resolve issues pertaining to Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) Projects of Major Ports in India.
Mr. Ashwin Parmar has graduated in Civil Engineering in 1982 from VJT Institute, Mumbai University followed by Post Graduate Diploma in Construction Management NICMAR in 1985. He has been associated with Projects executed first time in India involving innovative technology such as Tunnel Boring Machine in 1982, Use of No-Dig Technique in 2001 and use of Roller Compacted Concrete for Dam in 2005.
Mr. Parmar was last employed in ITD Cementation India Ltd for past 6 years as Executive Vice President heading the Business Development function of the company as Chief Business Officer. During his leadership role the Company’s order book recorded high of over Rs 20,000 crores.
Mr. Parmar was also associated with the Company for 15 years and was holding the position of Vice President and was further elevated to the position of Whole time Director of the Company from April 01, 2014 to April 04, 2016. Before joining the Company in the year 2001, he was working as ‘Principal Engineer’ with Tata Consulting Engineers. He also has to his credit award of Young Talented Engineer from Indian Concrete Institute. He has presented papers on Durable Concrete using Fly ash, tunneling by Tunnel boring Machine.
Mr. Parmar has a vast experience of over 30 years in Project Management and Project Execution with sound business acumen and specific knowledge of infrastructure sector. He has a good understanding of the infra business and possess sharp analytical skills. Market intelligence is one of his core strength and has been involved in formation of various joint ventures for large projects with National and International agencies. He has undertaken various strategic business initiatives and has closely worked with various Central/State agencies.
