The project involved maintaining the existing reservoir in a dewatered state while constructing a new RCC dam immediately downstream of an existing earth/rockfill dam. Other features of the project included furnishing, installing and operating a 600 hp, 50 cfs, barge-mounted, vertical turbine pump dewatering system; foundation rock blasting and excavation; construction of a new intake tower and outlet works; and removing the old dam.
